Warbirds Over the Rockies 2011 Recap!

To sum up Warbirds Over the Rockies for 2011, I would have to say "WOW"!

The hosts Love Air R/C, Contest Director; Mike Harrington, and Event Coordinator: Brian O'Meara did a FANTASTIC job once again of putting on a world-class RC event. We had great weather which every pilot took advantage of. There was an airplane in the air at all times and some of the models just had to be seen to be believed. Mix that with pyro, jets, screaming prop planes and you get the idea of what a spectacular event this is.

This event was very special for me since I was able to meet one of my personal heroes from WWII, Col. Clarence "Bud" Anderson. Col. Anderson was the quest speaker at this year's event.

When it was time to paint my Top Flite ARC P-51 Mustang, there was no question that it would be Bud's "Old Crow". I am now proud to say that this model sports the ultimate detail (yes, even cooler than a Best Pilot in the cockpit!)....Col. Anderson's signature!

The 8th Annual Warbirds Over The Rockies will take to the skies September 23, 24 & 25th at Drake Field, just north of Denver, hosted by the Love Air R/C Club of Loveland/Ft. Collins!
